What is Hospice Care?

Hospice is a specialized form of care designed to support individuals facing a life-limiting illness — typically with a prognosis of six months or less, should the illness follow its natural course. The focus shifts from curative treatments to enhancing quality of life, ensuring comfort, dignity, and peace during this important time. Hospice care includes:

Discontinuing aggressive or curative medical treatments

Prioritizing comfort, pain relief, and emotional support

Providing care wherever the patient calls home — whether that's a private residence, care facility, or hospital
